Enterprise Ethereum Alliance and Hyperledger Work Together to Promote Blockchain

The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) has partnered with the Linux Foundation-hosted Hyperledger project to promote the adoption of blockchain technology. The EEA is the world’s largest open-source blockchain consortium, consisting of a large number of companies.

The EEA’s common goal is to define enterprise-class software that will be able to handle the most complex and demanding applications at high speed without errors.

The collaboration focuses on Ethereum, which is designed to become a technology for businesses that offers privacy, confidentiality, scalability, and the highest security standards.

The EEA, as well as Hyperledger announced yesterday that together they want to accelerate the spread of blockchain to businesses worldwide. Hyperledger’s goal is to boost the development of open source software for building, managing and connecting enterprise blockchain networks.

The cooperation is described as follows:

Both groups have joined the opposite organization. Both the organizations will be able to bring together hundreds of thousands of developers “across dozens of special interest groups, workgroups, meetups, and conferences worldwide,” Hyperledger announced.

According to a blog post published by Enterprise Ethereum Alliance, this concept of concurrent development of community-driven open-standards and production quality open source reference implementations is a best practice in developing software on the Internet. Previous examples include IETF and Apache working on HTTP, and ECMA and Mozilla working on JavaScript.

Hyperledger developers to comply with the EEA’s requirement

Looking ahead, both companies hope that the collaboration will encourage Ethereum developers to submit their enterprise projects to Hyperledger and Hyperledger project maintainers to include the appropriate de-facto interfaces for standardization to the relevant EEA working groups. They will ensure their platforms fit into some of the best blockchain standards that have been built thus far.

We are curious to see what further synergetic effects can be achieved through this cooperation.
