Kim Kardashian Receives Bitcoin and Uses it to Raise Stakes at Charity Poker Event

Kim Kardashian West, the starlet of America’s most popular reality show, has staked what seems to be a physical Bitcoin (BTC) chip at a charity poker event.

The news comes courtesy of Matthew Roszak, a technology and cryptocurrency expert, who gave Kim a Bitcoin and then shared a picture with the proof on its official Twitter page.

“Big fun at the First Annual @cityofhope Charity Poker Tournament — also gave @KimKardashian her very first #bitcoin — KardashianCoin, YeezyCoin” the post described.

The “If Only” event was hosted by the City of Hope, a praiseworthy center with a strong focus on researching possible treatments for cancer and diabetes. The event saw the attendance of various celebrities including Kim, sisters Khloe Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, as well as mother Kris Jenner. Kim documented the event on her Instagram profile where all her 114 million fans could see videos of her betting with Poker chips, as well as with her physical Bitcoin chip. Bitcoins are used on various mobile poker apps such as Poker Bros for playing with friends online.

The whole event has also been allegedly filmed in order to be released in a new episode of the family’s reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Considering the show’s popularity, not to mention the popularity and influence of Kim herself, these events might help Bitcoin see a significant rise in value, interest, and popularity in the following period.

Kanye also a fan of Bitcoin

Cryptocurrency is not a new subject for the West family, as hip-hop artist Kanye, Kim’s husband, also displayed interest and revealed positive views in regards to Bitcoin in this YouTube video earlier in May.

“That was the moment when I wanted to use Bitcoin when I saw [former slave] Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill. It’s like when you see all the slave movies, it’s like why you gotta keep reminding us about slavery. Why don’t you put Michael Jordan on the $20 bill?” the artist commented.
