New EOS21 Protocol “Teleports” Tokens Between EOS and Ethereum

BY Aborisade G.·2 MIN READ·OCTOBER 28, 2018

shEOS, a Spanish software development company, has successfully developed a protocol that acts as a communication tool between Ethereum and EOS blockchain. The EOS21 protocol acts as a bridge between the two blockchains, which allows the Ethereum ERC20 chips to “teleport” to EOS without losing functionality.

On the official GitHub project, the team explains that they created the code to achieve a true token transfer instead of simply cloning tokens. This process has been called “teleportation” because it is very similar to what you want to achieve.

The so-called “teleportation” is achieved by destroying the tokens of a blockchain so that they are immediately generated in the other. This avoids an artificial number of tokens in two chains and guarantees a satisfactory exchange of blockchain:

“In the EOS21 protocol, we offer another option for ERC20 contracts that we do not have an integrated pause / expiration function, but we want to move their tokens to another chain, so we call this action: teleportation – tokens from one channel to another teleporter it will be in the target chain, but no longer in a fungible form in the source chain. “

The team of shEOS trusts that the development of this technology can contribute to the growth of both blockchains, as well as to an essential tool to guarantee their interoperability:

“Lately, we have realized the importance of a specific development, namely, communication between blockchains and interoperability. […] How strong would it be for developers who have the freedom to move their tokens to any desired blockchain? For each chain, it is better Each of them has certain characteristics that make it more attractive for the needs of dApp developers. “

So far, details of large-scale applications have not been disclosed; However, there is a growing community interested in this protocol. The shEOS team requested that its technology will be adapted to other blockchains with characteristics similar to XRP / XLM.

By the way, another feature of the shEOS team is that it is 100% owned by women. The team’s Twitter is @Sheos_org and its telegram is SheosOrg.
