REX-Osprey has restructured its Solana ETF, SSK, to provide direct spot Solana exposure with staking rewards through a U.S.-listed ETF, enhancing liquidity with liquid staking features.
SSK’s conversion introduces staking rewards to ETFs in the U.S. market, potentially increasing Solana’s appeal among institutional investors and setting new industry standards for crypto-based financial products.
REX-Osprey has restructured the Solana ETF, previously known as SSK, to enable direct exposure to spot Solana (SOL). This innovative move includes staking rewards and utilization of liquid staking integration through JitoSOL.
The conversion is spearheaded by REX Shares and Osprey Funds, led by CEO Greg King. As a result, the ETF structure now enhances liquidity while providing native Solana staking rewards, a pioneering approach in the U.S.
Initial trading performance showed significant interest. The first-day trading volume reached $33 million with $12 million inflows at the Cboe BZX exchange, indicating substantial demand for the ETF’s unique staking structure.
Financially, the ETF quickly surpassed $100 million AUM, reflecting robust institutional and retail involvement. Approximately 40% of assets are allocated to exchange-traded products staking SOL, maximizing yield through liquid staking.
The ETF is noteworthy for its monthly staking dividend distribution, a distinctive feature within U.S. markets. Such offerings potentially influence future structures and investor approaches in the cryptocurrency sector.
The integration of JitoSOL suggests potential technological advancements in staking processes. Historical comparisons reveal the SSK ETF outperformed other Solana-based products by volume, highlighting interest in diversified crypto investment vehicles.
