Ripple Launches Ripple Mint for Institutional RLUSD Minting and Redemption

BY Olivia Stephanie·3 MIN READ·JULY 24, 2026

Ripple has launched Ripple Mint, a platform that gives institutions a single place to access, mint, redeem, and manage its RLUSD stablecoin across the XRP Ledger and Ethereum. The company announced the product on July 23, 2026, and said it is available to existing RLUSD customers immediately.

Ripple introduced the platform in a post titled “Meet Ripple Mint,” describing it as a unified way for institutions to access, mint, redeem, and manage RLUSD. The launch targets enterprise clients rather than retail users. For related coverage, see X Launches Smart Cashtags on Web for Crypto and Stocks.

Institutions can use Ripple Mint through either a user interface or programmatic integration, according to Ripple. That dual access lets operations teams work through a console while engineering teams wire minting and redemption directly into their own systems. What Ripple Mint lets institutions do with RLUSD

Ripple said institutions can mint and redeem RLUSD directly inside Ripple Mint, the core function of any issuer-run stablecoin console. The same mechanics underpin rival products such as the USDC mint and redemption service that Standard Chartered and Circle rolled out for eligible clients. For related coverage, see Ripple Partners with Ctrl Alt for Dubai Real Estate Tokenization.

Beyond issuance, the platform can bridge RLUSD across chains, letting institutions move the token between networks without leaving the console. Ripple also said users can track transactions across their lifecycle and receive webhook-driven operational visibility for key events. For related coverage, see Dubai Launches First Government-Backed Real Estate Tokenization.

Ripple’s UI documentation describes Ripple Mint as an application within the Ripple platform for managing the full lifecycle of RLUSD on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum. Reference-ID based tracking is meant to give teams end-to-end visibility from a deposit through settlement.

The mint-and-redeem flow itself is anchored in fiat. Ripple’s RLUSD documentation says USD deposits trigger minting while redemptions burn tokens for fiat settlement, keeping issued supply tied to reserves.

Why Ripple Mint matters for RLUSD’s institutional expansion

The launch arrives as RLUSD reaches meaningful scale. Research pegged RLUSD circulating supply at roughly $1.59 billion at the time of the announcement, split across about $892.5 million on the XRP Ledger and $698.5 million on Ethereum.

XRPL accounted for about $892.5M and Ethereum for about $698.5M, showing the cross-chain footprint Ripple Mint is built to manage.

That two-chain footprint is the specific problem Ripple Mint is built to manage, giving institutions a single console over supply that would otherwise be tracked separately. The XRP Ledger has increasingly hosted institutional assets, including Ondo’s tokenized U.S. Treasuries deployed on the network.

Compliance sits underneath the product. RLUSD is issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company, LLC, a New York Department of Financial Services chartered trust company, and Ripple’s docs say direct customers are enterprise institutions subject to bank-level KYC, AML, and sanctions screening.

Ripple has been widening its institutional footprint on multiple fronts, including a partnership with Ctrl Alt for Dubai real estate tokenization. Ripple Mint extends that push into the stablecoin operations layer.

The competitive backdrop is already established. Circle markets a comparable institutional mint-and-redeem console for USDC and EURC, confirming institutional stablecoin tooling as a category, though Ripple differentiates on RLUSD’s chain coverage, its bridge workflow, and lifecycle tracking.

XRP, Ripple’s associated token, traded near $1.11 with a modest 24-hour decline of about 2.81% during the launch window, against a market capitalization of roughly $69.3 billion.

24-hour change: -2.81%. This gives editors a compact market backdrop without relying on an exchange or API endpoint.

The broader mood was cautious, with the Crypto Fear and Greed Index reading 31, in Fear territory, at the time of research. Ripple Mint is positioned as infrastructure for existing RLUSD clients rather than a catalyst tied to that short-term price action.
