Chinese students

A recent poll targeting Chinese University students established that many are optimistic that cryptocurrencies will do well in the country in the coming days. Of those interviewed, a quarter stated that they had intentions to seek work opportunities in this sector. It is an industry renowned for dealing with crypto assets and other allied technologies. According to the researchers, it is estimated that one of out every 12 Chinese students currently owns a crypto asset.

Chinese Students Have Owned Crypto in the Past

China generally has a mixed attitude when it comes to the use and ownership of all digital assets. On the one hand, there is the Chinese administration expelling all ICO offerings and digital coin companies including exchanges from Mainland China.

On the other hand, the administration has allowed the crypto mining industry to continue growing and thriving in certain parts of the country. Often, this is allowed in areas where is an abundance of cheap and readily available energy. In short, this only occurs in regions deemed to have favorable weather conditions.

The administration has also advanced its plans to launch a digital yuan in the near future. This became evident when the People’s Bank of China hired six renowned cryptocurrency experts.

Chinese Embrace Digital Assets

Unlike the case with the authorities, the Chinese people have been seen to actively embrace and use decentralized currencies and digital assets with much ease. For those that have embraced the digital assets, their main reasons for doing so include resisting censorship and choosing to take advantage of the utility and convenience offered by the digital assets.

The results of this survey have shown that the young people of China have a positive outlook for cryptocurrencies in their country. This is in addition to being some of the early and most eager crypto adopters. Statistics indicate that close to eight percent of University students in China currently own crypto assets.

A further 9 percent confessed that they had owned the crypto at some point in the recent past. According to 8btc, a crypto news outlet report released in the past weekend, this survey was conducted in 131 universities and colleges located in 26 Chinese provinces by Panews. 77percent of the students who took part in the survey are undergraduate while the rest are graduate students.

A majority of the students have specialized in engineering, management, and economics.
