The company started issuing its own cryptocurrency, “Spindles,” also called “GACKT Coins,” in October 2017, and in February 2018 the FSA advised them to stop selling cryptocurrencies.

Weekly Flash showed a photo of the Japanese artist GACKT, Seiko Noda, the present Japanese Minister of Internal Affairs, and Sanae Takaichi, the then Minister of Public Affairs and Communications, which was taken in March 2013.

Noda and GACKT’s friendship is nothing new for the Nagatacho political circle, according to an LDP lawmaker. GACKT is a famous singer known for his eccentric style and music, having released an album that features references to the popular Gundam anime series, having many singles used as theme songs for video games and other various anime films and tv series.

GACKT started becoming interested and involved in cryptos around 2016, and he stated that he got into the business early last year. GACKT told news.Bitcoin.com that his reason for getting involved is because he believes cryptocurrencies will be the future.

“[Crypto] has a lot of potentials. […] The world is governed by countries which have power due to the money they print. They supplied wars throughout history. I believe this centralized world will soon end, and a decentralized one will start.”

“The world manages to preserve the balance but it’ll lose it if it remains the way it is. We had to find a long term solution and [I believe] cryptocurrencies and the Blockchain technology are the solution. This is why I got involved in crypto,” he stated.

Spindle announced in May that its development company Black Star&Co. was in the process of developing an advanced platform which offered services to cryptocurrency exchanges, crypto hedge funds, and investors.

Ichiro Yamamoto, a blogger that had more insight in the matter, reportedly said that Noda was just unknowing of the topics associated with cryptocurrencies and her assistant meeting an FSA official was a slip-up.

“All that can be said about Noda letting her aide attend a meeting with a representative of Spindle [and an official of the FSA] at her office without having a solid understanding about the issues, is a

It was also suspected that Noda’s husband was involved in the development of Spindle’s business. But Noda denied that her husband had no involvement in the cryptocurrency business and also denied having ever discussed such business with GACKT.

GACKT also claimed that he has no implication in the meeting held with Noda’s aide and the FSA agent at the Minister’s office in January, nor did he had any plans of doing so, according to his talent agency. When questioned about Noda’s husband, GACKT’s talent agency answered that Noda’s spouse was one of his many acquaintances.

Last week, Seiko Noda told the press that her assistant and aide had a meeting with an official of the FSA in January 2018 at her parliamentary office together with a representative of Spindle which was then under FSA inspection.

Noda said that she didn’t attend the meeting and confirmed that her office had no plans of pressuring in any way the government investigation.

Noda was accused of using her position of Cabinet Minister to exert pressure on an official government investigation. On July 19th, the FAS suspected that Spindle was guilty of violating the fund settlement law.
