An Australian bank intends to integrate bonds on a blockchain-powered protocol.

Representatives of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and The World Bank claimed:

Blockchain has the potential to streamline processes among numerous debt capital market intermediaries and agents. This can help simplify raising capital and trading securities; improve operational efficiencies; and enhance regulatory oversight,” reported CNBC.

It is assumed that the bond will use the Ethereum blockchain.

The move is a revolutionary one. This project comes in support of blockchain technology plus cryptocurrency and will definitely change the financial institutions’ vision of bonds management. Moreover, the initiative could attract a growing number of institutions interested in making investments. Finally, this project eliminates some barriers and offers a new perspective through which bonds can be controlled at a wider level. Among the advantages of Blockchain Bond, we find transparency and efficiency.

Investor interest in the bond has thus far been strong. Together with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, it intends to launch the transaction after wider consultation with more investors.

Advocates of blockchain technology say it makes processes faster and more secure, but some are concerned amid hype around the technology’s potential that the intense fanfare could potentially lead to a bubble,” CNBC added.

Negative reactions on blockchain technology seem to be false as it is still a comparative advantage of the institutions that decide to integrate it within their systems.
