The second largest Crypto Exchange in the world in terms of trading volume—OKEx has reportedly been named the “Crypto Exchange of the Year”. The award was given to the exchange at the Malta Blockchain Summit’s Blockchain Awards. OKEx which recently shifted its base of operation to Malta took this award as a proof of its hard work.
OKEx Got the Award
The award was given to the crypto exchange right after a careful analysis by a panel of 32 personalities who served as jurors. It was also reported that OKEx was given the award over two significant contenders: Binance and BitBay.
Based on experts opinion, the summit is been used by Malta to aid the country in its efforts to become an international reference when speaking of the adoption of the blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency. The idea behind the Awards Ceremony according to the report is to recognize the companies, experts, and leaders who made an outstanding contribution to the blockchain technology development in Malta.
The president of Malta is well-known to be a keen supporter of cryptocurrency. He is also well-known for being the only one to speak about the potential of the blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency at the United Nations General Assembly.
The Head of Operations at OKEx, Andy Cheung was elated to receive the award and he promised to continue pushing the limits when it comes to technological innovation in order for the platform users to have the best experience possible.
He went on to say that:
“These awards are particularly gratifying as they reflect a vote of confidence from industry leaders, who recognize our ongoing efforts. Like we said, we dare to innovate and will keep pushing the limits of what is possible,”
Although the award was considered an honour by Andy Cheung, he, however, made it known that the OKEx team has a lot of work to do and they are always in constant improvement.
