Ripple, the famous blockchain-based payments company, has teamed up with Raising Malawi, a praiseworthy non-profit organization run by superstar artist Madonna, to raise funds for vulnerable children across Malawi.

The exciting partnership was announced by both parties, on Ripple’s Insights section, and on Madonna’s official website. Over the following month, starting on July 30th, Ripple has pledged to donate the same amount of money received in public donations which are to be conducted through Facebook to directly sponsor the children.

“We’re honored to be a part of Raising Malawi’s amazing work with some of the world’s most underserved children and are grateful to our investors at Sound Ventures for making the introduction to us and this important cause,” Eric van Miltenburg, SVP of Business Operations at Ripple firmly stated.

In the public announcement, the company also stated that “Ripple and its executive team care deeply about giving back and eliminating barriers that keep marginalized populations from being a part of our global community. This means fostering programs for financial inclusion, improving access to fundamental human services, empowering teachers and supporting primary education, and promoting environmental literacy and conservation. This recent donation to Raising Malawi is just one such example of how we invest in causes that exemplify this philosophy.”

About Raising Malawi

For those of you who don’t know, Raising Malawi has since long been involved in the pressing issues that affect children in the African country of Malawi. Founded in 2006 by American screenwriter Michael Berg and Madonna, the organization has since helped over 10,000 of these children by providing educational support through the creation of classrooms, funding scholarships, and other such services. According to various reports, close to one million children in the region have lost one or both parents to HIV and AIDS.

Madonna is actively involved within the organization and has recently stated that she would be conducting a $60,000 fundraiser to mark her birthday: “I have an unwavering commitment to providing vulnerable children with a loving home. For my birthday, I can think of no better gift than connecting my global family with this beautiful country and the children who need our help the most.”
