British online payments operator Skrill is thrilled to announce it supports fiat-to-crypto services.

Skrill, previously known as Moneybookers, has embraced the crypto sector. A company’s statement published on July 25 pointed out a new product that will enjoy crypto enthusiasts. From now on, users can buy and sell cryptocurrencies using Skrill services.

Availability

The Skrill Wallet, as the new product is called, supports four crypto assets: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Users are now able to convert these coins with over 40 fiat currency and reverse.

The product is available in over 30 countries, counting the UAE, the UK, Australia, and Canada. Still, the Skrill Wallet cannot be used in the US and Russia.

No sports betting!

Even though Skrill has created its notoriety by providing trading services related to sports betting and “casino rooms”, its new wallet is focusing on other features. For now, users can only acquire and sell cryptocurrencies as it is unavailable to transfer the assets between wallets.

Skrill’s CEO Lorenzo Pellegrino, also known for his management role in NETELLER and Income Access companies, said the new service offers a more affordable way to buy and sell crypto assets for ordinary individuals.

“I’m confident that the ability to trade in cryptocurrencies quickly and easily through Skrill will appeal to consumers both now and in the future. We know many people want to experiment with cryptocurrency trading but don’t know where to start and we’ve made the entire process very straightforward.”

The news joins the Coinbase’s new service. As previously reported by TheCCpress, the Californian cryptocurrency exchange has teamed up with London-based WeGift to allow crypto asset holders spend their money on e-gift cards, which could be further utilized for payments at giant retailers such as Uber and Amazon.

It looks like creativity is not a problem for companies! The more crypto-powered options will exist, the more users will be interested in using the crypto services.
