Tron (TRX) and TRC-standard tokens are now supported by the built-in crypto wallet of the Opera web browsers, according to a press release.
Opera first started working on its crypto wallet for its Android browser, with the complete product being launched in December 2018. The wallet supported Ether (ETH) and decentralized applications (DApps) interactions.
The web browser has added support for another major blockchain, namely Tron. Opera users will now be able to use Tron-powered games and access Tron DApps from just one application.
EVP at Opera, Head of Browsers, Krystian Kolondra, stated that the implementation of support for multiple blockchains in the wallet will facilitate the mainstream adoption of Web 3.
Opera’s in-built crypto wallet and Web 3-powered browsers are available in desktop version there is an early access program developed for iOS called Opera Touch.
A new service was added by Opera in February, which allowed Sweden, Norway, and Denmark residents to use the Android version of the browser to buy Ether.
Another notable crypto –related development of the browser is its partnership with the Ledger Capital company. Through this collaboration, the company is looking for new ways of developing future blockchain applications within its products and ecosystem.
Lucien Chen, Tron’s co-founder and chief technical stepped down from his position earlier this week, as he was not pleased with Tron’s ongoing direction towards centralization and how it was straying from its fundamental philosophies.
Currently, Tron (TRX) is ranked number 11 according to market cap, and has a trading value of $0.0299, seeing an increase of 12.37% per day.
