Vitalik Buterin, the legendary and knowledgeable creator of Ethereum, has been seen in a recent video released by the Twitter user @BeatsCrypto talking about the BitTorrent network. More to the point, in the video for Vice, Vitalik praised the network and further explained the initial idea of Bitcoin and blockchain mechanism.
Since BitTorrent has been recently acquired by TRON, this was the perfect opportunity for Justin Sun to speak about Vitalik Buterin’s comment on BitTorrent. Despite Buterin’s honest and relatively objective stance on BitTorrent, Sun commented in a fairly cheeky manner by tweeting the following post: “hahahaha why he is so obsessed with #BitTorrent? I don’t understand.”
Justin Sun’s tweet was retweeted by @Tron Dapp, saying that Vitalik Buterin is obsessed with BitTorrent and TRON.
Vitalik’s response and the aftermath
To that tweet, Vitalik simply tweeted that the interview was from August 2017, and that Tron acquired BitTorrent in July 2018.
“That interview was from Aug 2017. Tron acquired BitTorrent in Jul 2018. My praise for BitTorrent had nothing to do with Tron. This is like implying that because I like avocados, I approve of everyone who has ever bought an avocado,” Ethereum’s CEO commented.
To this, Justin Sun replied in a somewhat funny fashion by pulling Buterin’s leg once more: “We all love avocados. I acquired all avocado farms and reached to monopoly. Now if you still love avocados, you have to listen to me. However, I am happy to give you free avocados for sure!”
Justin Sun’s response came after he had previously expressed his gratitude for Ethereum’s inventor for stating that BitTorrent was one of the best-decentralized platforms with a long-lasting use case for dApps.
The fierce “battle” did not end here, though, as Buterin soon responded rather weirdly by picking an old tweet by Elon Musk that states: “Entropy is the ultimate boss battle.” Buterin also added: “Did I hear entropy? Well I happen to be making an ICO called entropy token and it looks like $elonmusk supports it! $ETT #ETT 𝄞ETT! Whitepaper soon!”
