WhatsApp Now Supports Crypto Transfers

WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging software, now supports cryptocurrency transfers on its platform. App users will be able to send and receive cryptos through the new WhatsApp bot, Lite.im.

A Twitter post made by Zulu Republic announced the new feature. Cryptocurrency transfers can now be made through the freeware message sharing platform. The app will allow users to send and receive Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and ZTX, the native token of the Zulu platform. WhatsApp currently has more than 1.5 billion people using its messaging service.

In order to use this new feature, WhatsApp users must first add the WhatsApp bot and then complete the steps featured in the on-screen instructions. The bot features the option of setting a default cryptocurrency.

The app is available in two languages, namely Spanish and English. There is also a referral system included which rewards with crypto the users that refer the app to other people.

But WhatsApp is not the only social media platform that has gotten involved with cryptocurrencies. Social Media giant Facebook has also revealed that they are in the midst of creating their own cryptocurrency which is expected to be launched this year.

As more and more social media platforms will adopt cryptocurrencies or implement some feature for their use, its users will be more exposed to this new technology.
